Brief History

The Christus Vincit Community began in 1980. Mr. Juan Lope Urcia, Know as “Kuya Johnny” to the community members, together with Renato Ginoga, also known as “Tatang”, and some other Mathematics teacher and students conceptualized the existence of Christus Vincit group in Adamson University. The name Christus Vincit was not accidental; it was prophetic. The inspiration was given to Kuya Johnny. It looked forward to the mission and vision of the Christus Vincit- the realization of a Kingdom under the Lordship of God.

CV 9 Commitments

1. Discernment – This has been the practice of our community or of the individual member. We seek, recognize and intentionally take part in the activity of God in concrete situations
a) Prayer – connectivity to the source
b) Reading the signs of the times
c) Confer or consult

2. Bible Study – In our CV hymn we sing ” mga aral mo’y gabay sa pakikipagkapwa…”
a) Study the word of God
b) Making the word of God as our guiding principles
c) Sharing the word of God

3. Integrated (wholistic) Person – We are striving to become an integrated workers for the Kingdom by:
a) Feeding the mind with the necessary knowledge in promoting the Kingdom
b) Touching the heart to instill the values of the Kingdom
c) Equipping the person with skills and needed resources in building God’s Kingdom

4. To promote the Kingdom of Love – we serve others by using our 3T’s in Humility -
a) Honest recognition of one’s 3T’s and limitations
b) Be joyful if not given due recognition as we work for the Kingdom
c) Acceptance of other’s weaknesses

5. To promote the Kingdom of Peace – We live in community through the practice of;
a) Working together for the common good

6. To promote the Kingdom of Justice – We share what we have in simplicity
