Call to Serve…

Bro. Derick Villaruz [Philippines]

Even before I accepted the offer to write an article about “Calling”, this is one of the topics I rarely get to dwell on, particularly because it touches a lot of sensitive areas in my personal life. Truth is, I haven’t been thinking of it seriously. Suffice to say, its one of those decisions that would really alter your life.

Some few years back, I remember Dad telling me that when I was about 6 years old, I used to say that when I grow up Id be a priest just like my Uncle. And look at me now; I’m all grown up but nothing resembling a monastic life. Thinking about it gives me the laughs, and I tell you, the things running on my skull right these very instant is an embarrassment to the Vatican :) . Sorry, but it would seem there would only be one cleric in the family.

The Greatest Man

by Andrew A Hide

You are the greatest man alive,

The wisest ever known,

You are the rightful king, to me,

And should sit upon a throne.

Ang mga Daddy…

It is easy for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.

Came from God; I call him Dad!

(tula para kay thap, ghom at plas) by: Sis. Mai-Mai

How to Be a Good Father

http://www.wikihow.com/Be-a-Good-Father

1.) Have fun. Fatherhood is a big responsibility but it is also a lot of fun. Show your kids that you enjoy being their father.

2.) Spend time with and take responsibility for your children. Some fathers miss opportunities to spend time with their kids because they have competing responsibilities or interests. However, once the opportunity has passed, it’s gone and you can’t get it back. If you don’t establish an intimacy with your children when they’re young, it’ll be difficult to catch up when they’re older and still need your help and support.

God’s Masterpiece Is Mother

by: Herbert Farnham

God took the fragrance of a flower…

The majesty of a tree…

The gentleness of morning dew…

The calm of a quiet sea…

She Shall be Praised

[ Proverbs 31: 10, 25-31]

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth no the bread of idleness.

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
